The History of Front Street Event
The “Foundation” successfully hosted the latest rendition of our Avila History series on March 30 & 31. We knew this free event would be popular when it “sold out” within 8 hours of being posted, so we added a repeat performance for the following night, which also sold out. Both nights were well attended - roughly 160+ total folks joined us. This time local historian Pete Kelley took us through a slide show tour of Avila’s Front Street in the old days. It was stunning to see how the area has evolved, and that even way back then the crowds visiting our beach were enormous. Many thanks to those who served on the planning committee, and to those who helped out with logistics.

Help Keep Avila Beach Clean!
There has been an increase in litter throughout our town with the recent influx of visitors. More trash receptacles have been installed, but it has been difficult for our service agencies to keep up with the sheer volume of garbage, mainly on the weekends.
Would you like to help keep Avila Beach clean by volunteering to pick up trash? Please contact Bev Aho at (805) 235-8130 for supplies and more information.
