The Storied Past of Avila Beach
The short film “The Storied Past of Avila Beach” was produced thru a grant provided by the Foundation to the San Luis Film Festival. The film was produced by Cal Poly filmmaker/student Grace Tucker and premiered during the 2017 Film Festival to a crowd of approximately 300 people at the Fremont Theater in Downtown SLO. Special thanks to Avila residents/historians Archie McLaren, Betty Woody, Joan Phelan and Jack San Filippo for sharing their knowledge and stories and participating in the filming.
